Rep. Jeff Crank resolution to condemn socialism
The resolution, introduced by Rep. Jeff Crank, R-Colo., seeks to force moderate House Democrats to take a public stance against the DSA. Crank described the DSA movement as “anti-American” and anti-Constitution,
arguing that its members are hostile to free speech. He further alleged that the organization’s advocacy against Israel, particularly following the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attacks, contains antisemitic elements. Crank’s resolution also highlights support for the SAVE Act, which would mandate proof of U.S. citizenship to register for federal elections. This comes in response to the DSA’s stated program, which advocates for extending voting rights to noncitizens, including incarcerated individuals and those with criminal convictions. According to a provisional schedule obtained by Fox News Digital, a “rule vote” on the resolution was set for Tuesday afternoon, followed by a final vote on the resolution Tuesday evening. This follows calls from progressives, including former Vice President Kamala Harris and Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Ed Markey, D-Mass., to expand the court to 13 seats.

Crank noted that a Brookings Institution analysis found that, as of Aug. 12, 123 candidates endorsed or recommended by DSA chapters had won primaries this cycle.
