The Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) said on Monday that it is monitoring the tropical system. Tropical storm Edouard a flood, wind threat in Texas
CenterPoint Energy announced Monday morning that it has activated its Emergency Operations Center ahead of the storm. Storm Forecast and Potential Impact
Tropical Storm Edouard became the fifth named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season on Monday evening. Additionally, tropical storm warnings have been issued from Port Bolivar, Texas, to the Vermilion/Iberia Parish Line in Louisiana, with winds of 40+ mph expected beginning Tuesday. A storm surge warning is also in effect for the area from High Island to Cameron, with a potential storm surge of up to 5 feet.
Forecasters expect the storm to move inland over eastern Texas sometime Tuesday afternoon or evening, continue moving inland on Wednesday, and dissipate by early Thursday. While generally 3-6 inches of rainfall is expected, up to 9 inches are possible on the upper Texas Coast. Wind gusts over 75 mph are possible within a few hours of landfall, and Edouard could briefly become a minimal hurricane.
