gamescomで発表された「The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered」の全貌

gamescom Opening Night Live

Revealed on stage at gamescom Opening Night Live, Remastered will bring a wide range of improvements and modernizations to the game, upgrading the experience while maintaining the heart and soul of the original. Visually, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered aims to bring the game up to more modern, contemporary standards through improved textures across the environment, NPC, and monsters, alongside reworked lighting.

Throughout the open world, players will experience more natural illumination and dramatically improved light and shadow, from the foliage while hunting monsters in the wilderness to the streets of Novigrad as the sun sets over the bustling market. Together with improvements to ray tracing, these changes will make it feel like you are seeing the world of The Witcher 3 for the first time again.

Modernization is also a key consideration for combat, traversal, and general movement. The action now feels more precise and smooth than ever before, with revamped animations playing a decisive role by allowing Geralt to close the gap in combat much more fluidly. Brutal new finishers enter the fray, including the Aard-based finisher seen in the trailer. The new adaptive camera is more dynamic, moving in tighter or zooming out for a wider view of enemies depending on how many foes you are facing.

One of the biggest mechanical changes in Remastered relates to skill trees and character progression. The entire system has been reimagined to bring skill trees and character building more in-line with what a modern RPG audience might expect. New perks and abilities have been added, many existing skills have been reworked, and the skill trees themselves have been completely redesigned to make unlocking and creating your build more flexible and intuitive.

Additional features included in Remastered are Transmogrification, which allows players to reforge the look of favorite weapons and armor without sacrificing stats. Cross-platform mod support on Xbox Series X|S enables players to create and play a wealth of custom content ranging from new quests, weapons, and equipment to balance changes. An expanded photo mode offers new poses, camera controls, frames, filters, and models. Furthermore, Remastered supports Xbox Play Anywhere for seamless play across Xbox Series X|S, PC, or Xbox-supported handhelds.

Nintendo Switch 2 and Blizzard Entertainment

The Witcher 3 is also coming to two brand new platforms. A native version of Remastered will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, and through a new partnership between CD PROJEKT RED and Blizzard Entertainment, it will launch on Battle.net on September 29. Those who purchase the expansion on Blizzard’s platform will unlock a special Geralt-inspired skin in Diablo 4, with further details to be shared when CD PROJEKT RED attends BlizzCon in September.

As an additional surprise announced on stage by gamescom Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley, all current owners of The Witcher 3 gained access to its original two acclaimed expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, at no additional cost.

Songs of the Past

The newly announced expansion, Songs of the Past, is available to wishlist ahead of its 2027 release. It will take players to the brand new realm of Letten, an idyllic land of rural tradition, bountiful harvests, and lavish festivals that hides a dark secret just beneath the surface. Geralt must overcome never-before-seen foes as he fights to conquer its long-dormant evil. Songs of the Past will launch in 2027 as a paid expansion for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
