英国では自動車製造販売協会（SMMT）によると、自動車の生産台数は減少しているが、これは企業が生産を新モデルに切り替えたためだという。
同ロビー団体は、「モデルの変更と一時的なサプライチェーンの制約により生産量が制限されたため」7月の生産量は14.4％減少したと述べた。
その新しいモデルの一つは電気自動車のレンジローバーになる可能性が高い。 ジャガー・ランドローバーが英国で製造する初の電気自動車、英国最大の自動車メーカー。同社の唯一の他の電気自動車モデルであるジャガーI-Paceは、オーストリアの契約メーカーによって製造されている。
