BenQ launched the iScreenBar on August 25, 2026, from Costa Mesa, California, marking the debut of the first monitor light bar built specifically for the iMac. Alongside the iMac-focused accessory, the display and lighting company also announced the ScreenBar Max, a new dual-monitor desk lamp designed for dual-monitor workspaces.
A Decade of Category Leadership
同氏はまた、新しいScreenBar製品には独自の非対称光学技術が採用されており、グレアや目の疲れを軽減し、あらゆるデスク環境にプロフェッショナルグレードの照明をもたらすと述べている。
That design leadership has already earned independent recognition. The iScreenBar claimed both the Red Dot Design Award 2026 and the iF Design Award 2026, while the ScreenBar Max secured a Red Dot Design Award 2026 of its own.
Engineered for the iMac Aesthetic
iMac users care deeply about aesthetics, and iScreenBar was built with exactly that in mind, driven by user feedback.
Engineered for the computer’s distinctive look, the device is crafted from unibody aluminum with a glass touch panel. It echoes the materials and finish of the iMac itself, mounting via a custom magnetic clamp on the back alongside a magnetic cable clip that keeps wiring out of sight.
Crucially, the hardware avoids blocking the built-in camera, microphone, or rear logo. It is fully compatible with iMac models from 2021 and later.
Smart Optics and Custom macOS Controls
The hardware lights an area of 33.5 by 19.7 inches (85 by 50 cm) at 500 lux. BenQ’s asymmetric optics light the desk without shining on the screen or in the eyes, cutting glare while preserving color accuracy.
Adjustments happen via the physical glass touch panel or a dedicated macOS app for tweaking brightness, color temperature, and light mode.
The light relies on presence detection to turn on and off, can activate when the iMac wakes, and dynamically dims or brightens as room lighting shifts.
A video call mode evens out illumination and reduces facial glare. Powered by the iMac’s USB-C port, the connection also enables automatic camera mode activation.
Pricing and Availability
The iScreenBar is available now in silver from BenQ or from Amazon for an MSRP of $189.
Additional models featuring blue and green finishes—two of the most popular iMac colors—are scheduled to follow in late 2026.
