The sequence of violence began at dawn at a two-storey house located in a quiet neighbourhood in Bang Bua Thong, approximately a 90-minute drive from central Bangkok. Police Colonel Thadsakorn Konthong, superintendent of the Bang Bua Thong Police Station, confirmed that the boy killed his elderly grandparents at approximately 5 a.m. local time (22:00 GMT Thursday). Each victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the head.

According to Thadsakorn, the firearm and ammunition used in the attack belonged to the boy’s grandfather. An initial inspection of the grandparents’ bedroom revealed signs that the firearm had been searched for prior to the shooting. The house, which is surrounded by trees and enclosed by a concrete fence, sits near a canal with an empty plot of land located behind the property. Police noted that a red and white Nazi flag hung in the yard, which they stated belonged to the teenager’s uncle. The whereabouts of the boy’s parents remain unclear.

Following the killings at the home, the teenager boarded a school van that arrived to collect him. He carried the 9mm handgun and dozens of bullets with him to the Debsirin Nonthaburi School, located in the Bang Kruai district on the northwestern outskirts of the capital. The school, which belongs to one of Thailand’s oldest and most prestigious networks, was founded by King Chulalongkorn in 1885 and has historically produced many prominent Thai figures, including diplomats, athletes, and former prime ministers.
