昨日の朝、ポルティセロ沖で沈没した帆船ベイジアン号の行方不明者6人の救助活動が今朝再開された。
昨日ローマ、サッサリ、カリアリから到着したイタリアの消防士の洞窟潜水チームとダイビングチームは、新たな潜水を終えたばかりだ。
マルコ・ティロッタ捜索を率いるパレルモの消防ダイバーのリーダーは、遺体の回収には数多くの課題があり、その最大の課題は船の深さだと説明する。
「我々は船を検査するための最新の潜水を終えたばかりだ」とティロッタ氏はガーディアン紙に語った。
彼はこう付け加えた。
最大の課題は深さです。そのため、すぐに介入することはできません。水中に潜った場合、潜るのに 3 分、沈没船の修理に 8 分かかることを考慮する必要があります。その後、浮上段階を開始する必要があります。
また、船内にすべての荷物を積んだ状態で船にアクセスするのが難しく、また船が 90 度の位置にあるという問題もあります。
私たちはまだ船内には入っていません。近いうちに船内に入って、船の隅々まで検査するつもりです。
ティロッタ氏は、昨日発見された遺体1体以外には遺体は見つかっていないと述べた。
保険グループヒスコックスの社長、 アキ・フセインは、同社の非常勤会長の就任を認め、「深いショックと悲しみ」を表明した。 ジョナサン・ブルーマー と彼の妻 ジュディ・ブルーマー PA通信によると、行方不明者の中にはこの2人も含まれている。

AFP通信によると、イタリアの専門ダイバーらが、月曜日の未明にシチリア島沖でヨットが転覆して以来行方不明となっている6人の捜索を新たに開始した。
英国船籍のベイジアン号には、乗組員10人を含む22人が乗船していた。
英国のIT界の大物マイク・リンチ氏を含む6人が依然として行方不明となっている。
シチリア島の民間防衛局長サルボ・コシナ氏はAFPに対し、リンチ氏の妻アンジェラ・バカレスさんは救出された15人の中に含まれていたが、同氏と18歳の娘ハンナさんは行方不明になっていると語った。
モルガン・スタンレー・インターナショナル銀行会長ジョナサン・ブルーマー氏とクリフォードチャンス銀行の弁護士クリス・モルビロ氏も行方不明となっている。
海面下約50メートルの沈没船の最初の捜索は失敗した。
「通行を妨害する家具の存在により困難を伴い、アクセスは橋のみに限られていた」と消防士らは述べた。
